En Argentina, el salario mínimo es fijado por el Consejo Nacional del Empleo, la Productividad y el Salario Mínimo, Vital y Móvil (CNEPySMVyM), integrado por tres partes: representantes de sindicatos, de entidades empresarias y del Poder Ejecutivo. Esa institución depende del Ministerio de Trabajo, Empleo y Seguridad Social.
